Where does Giroud rank amongst Arsenal’s fastest centurions?

Olivier Giroud became the 12th fastest player to score 100 goals for Arsenal on Thursday.

The 31-year-old finally netted his 100th goal for the club when he converted a penalty in the 4-2 win over BATE Borisov on Thursday.

It took Giroud 237 games to do so, which, according to a list provded by talkSPORT, makes him the 12th fastest player to hit three figures in the club’s history.

That means he reached the milestone quicker than the likes of Dennis Bergkamp, Alan Smith and Robin van Persie.

However, he was some way behind 11th placed Thierry Henry, who only needed 181 games to get his 100.

At the top of the list is Ted Drake, whose 100 came in just 108 games. It’s doubtful that anyone will be breaking that record any time soon.

For all the criticism Giroud has come in for since joining the club in 2013, he is now part of the club’s history and ranks amongst some its biggest legends. His spell at the club may not be trophy-laden, but’s it a great accomplishment.

Below is the list in full, in descending order, showing how many games it took to reach 100 goals:
