Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is looking for a move to either Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham in January, but will only get it if he shows his 2015/16 form.

The Daily Mail via Daily Star claim that Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs would all consider a move for the player in January but only if he gets back to his best.

He scored 17 goals and made 11 assists in 36 Premier League games as Leicester won the title in 2015/16, but scored just six goals last season and has yet to score this campaign.

Only Roma made a serious bid for the Algerian over the summer, but £32m wasn’t enough to convince the Foxes, who want something closer to £50m.

Given that Arsenal were unwilling to spend £40m on the likes of Jean Seri despite his good form in Ligue 1 and in Europe, you would’ve been brave to bet on the Gunners making a £50m effort for Mahrez this summer.

Arsène Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal will try again for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar in the future, so any hopes of Mahrez being an Alexis Sanchez replacement are unlikely to go far.

When asked about the Algerian international a few weeks ago, Wenger said that Arsenal already have similar types in Mesut Özil, Jack Wilshere and Alex Iwobi.

Notably two of those three currently only have a year left on their deals, so if they were to leave North London next summer, perhaps the Gunners boss would be more interested.
