Two of Arsenal Women’s FA WSL matches have been picked for television coverage.

Arsenal’s 12:30pm kick-off against Manchester City at City Football Academy on Saturday 30 September will be shown on BT Sport and the Gunners’ clash against Bristol City at Meadow Park on Sunday 8 October will be broadcast on the BBC (also 12:30pm kick-off).

It’s reassuring that women’s football is steadily getting more coverage, particularly on such reputable channels.

The more access people have to the sport, the more likely they are to show continued interest. Plus, these two Arsenal matches are set to be doozies.

Last time Arsenal traveled to City, the Gunners won 1-0 so hopefully they’ll put in a similar performance.

Last season, City finished top of the WSL table while Arsenal finished third, so this tie has the potential to be a title race six-pointer.

Arsenal lost their recent friendly against Turbine Potsdam 3-0 and will therefore be looking for a much brighter result when they face Birmingham City in the WSL on 24 September.

City, meanwhile, haven’t played since 3 June when they beat Liverpool 3-1.

The Gunners thumped Bristol City 5-0 back in June with goals from Louise Quinn, Jordan Nobbs, Chloe Kelly, Danielle van de Donk and Beth Mead.
