When you look at how Stan Kroenke’s US teams are doing in their respective sports, it’s not looking great for Arsenal.

As most probably know, Kroenke isn’t just Arsenal’s majority shareholder. The American also owns a few US-based sports teams, including the NFL’s LA Rams, the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche, MLS team Colorado Rapids, and National Lacrosse League side Colorado Mammoth.

Therefore, when Kroenke took over at Arsenal, a few Gooners who weren’t familiar with his previous ‘work’ naively thought that perhaps he knew what he was doing.

A depressingly accurate piece from the Guardian points out that Kroenke’s other teams should serve as a warning to Arsenal.

For example, he moved the St. Louis Rams to LA, which has left their former area in debt and angered fans beyond belief.

He signed Jeff Fisher, a mediocre coach who he tied down to a two-year deal after the Rams didn’t make the play-offs, only to sack him two days later – one game before Fisher would have set the all-time NFL record for the most losses.

And people think we have it bad with Arsene Wenger?

The new coach is Sean McVay, the youngest in NFL history at just 31, and their team is average at best, while their strongest player, Aaron Donald, is refusing to sign a new deal. Sound familiar?

Colorado Avalanche have also gone downhill since Kroenke took over, as have the NBA’s Denver Nuggets.

Colorado Rapids haven’t won a title since 2010 and haven’t made the playoffs in three of the last five seasons.

It’s quite frankly disturbing that Arsenal don’t sense a pattern here and I fear the worst is yet to come.

Our best players want to leave and are refusing to sign new deals, Wenger, despite no longer seemingly being the right man for the job, has just been handed a two-year deal, and the Gunners are no longer a top team. They’re mediocre at best.
