It wasn’t easy but Arsenal managed to beat West Brom 2-0 on Monday night.

While the first half wasn’t the best football Arsenal have played, the second half was much better.

Nacho Monreal was fantastic and saved the Gunners’ skin more than once, while Alexandre Lacazette did the business at the other end, scoring his third and fourth goals in red and white.

1. Defence

Petr Cech – 7

The big guy made two crucial saves in the first half and wasnt needed in the second.

Shkodran Mustafi – 5.5

Could and should have given away a penalty within the opening minutes. A silly decision from someone who’s supposed to be an experienced international. The centre-back was generally poor. throughout the match.

Laurent Koscielny – 6

The France international seems a little off the pace this season and the clash against West Brom was no different.

Perhaps it’s because he’s been forced to make way for Mustafi and play as a right centre-back. Perhaps it’s his Achilles or back or something else but he doesn’t look up to his usual standard, or fully fit for that matter.

Nacho Monreal – 8

That clearance in the first half… how… just how? Even Jay Rodriguez thought he’d scored but our defender booted it off the line and above the goal.

The defender won three aerial duels, four tackles and has a pass success rate of 94%.

What a fantastic game from the Spaniard.

Next, midfield
