Jack Wilshere returns to the Arsenal first-team for the first time in 13 months, while Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott will make up the attack in tonight’s Europa League clash.

Here’s the team in full [via UEFA]:

David Ospina
Per Mertesacker (C)
Alexis Sánchez
Olivier Giroud
Theo Walcott
Rob Holding
Alex Iwobi
Nacho Monreal
Héctor Bellerín
Ainsley Maitland-Niles
Mohamed Elneny

Subs
Matt Macey
Jack Wilshere
Shkodran Mustafi
Jeff Reine-Adélaïde
Sead Kolašinac
Chuba Akpom
Reiss Nelson

Wilshere has been out of the Arsenal side for over a year and will be looking to impress should he come off the bench, I feel. Alexis Sanchez will want to win the booing fans over, while Olivier Giroud is one goal away from netting 100 times for the Gunners.

Arsenal welcome FC Koln to the Emirates Stadium in the Europa League this evening and are big favourites to pick up all three points in their opening group game.

The Gunners could go top of Group H if results go their way, and they should have no trouble at the Emirates given the contrasting form of the two sides.

Arsene Wenger’s men come into tonight’s European encounter off the back of consecutive home wins in all competitions, beating Leicester City and Bournemouth in their own backyard this season.

The form of the visitors is likely to be a factor too. Peter Stöger’s FC Koln side have lost three of their last four games in all competitions, and currently sit rock bottom of the German Bundesliga table without a point to their name.

Arsenal boast bragging rights in recent head-to-head meetings too, having beaten the German outfit 4-0 in their 2012 friendly and 2-1 a year previously.

As a result, the Gunners should get their Europa League campaign off to a perfect start, even with a weakened starting eleven, in my opinion.
