According to European football expert, Gabriele Marcotti, Alexis Sanchez is unhappier than Chelsea’s Diego Costa and Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.

Marcotti believes that Alexis will be the most unhappy player this season after his move to Manchester City fell through on the final day of the transfer window.

“Yeah (Costa’s) getting fined and they’re obviously mounting up,” Marcotti said on ESPN FC [via Express].

“In the end, if he moves in January he may not end up paying it, it may come out of his new club or whatever.

“To me there’s no question Alexis is going to be the guy who’s least happy this year.

“Philippe Coutinho’s going to buckle down, he’s going to work hard and he’s going to make his way back into the team.

“Klopp will welcome him back and he’s got a World Cup with Brazil to look forward too. Diego Costa we’ve covered.

“Alexis Sanchez is stuck at Arsenal, he’s going to play every minute and whatever he does on the pitch, he’s going to get scrutinised.

“’Oh his body language is wrong, oh look at this’.

“I think out of the three the guy I feel for the most is Alexis Sanchez.

“I also get the sense Alexis, dare I say this, cares more than perhaps the other two guys.”

Coutinho was supposed to be signing for Barcelona but Liverpool refused to allow him to go, yet since Jurgen Klopp’s side aren’t looking too shabby this season perhaps he really will buckle down, as Marcotti says.

Costa, on the other hand, looks as if he’d rather chew on wasps than return to London to play for Chelsea. So I doubt that he’ll genuinely be more content that Alexis.

Alexis now has to see out the final year of his contract at Arsenal. However, at least he knows he’ll be playing football every week and has excellent training facilities. While he may feel as if he’s being held hostage, he’s not actually got it too bad.

The 28-year-old scored 30 goals over all competitions last season and if he can get anywhere close to that this term, he would be a massive help to Arsenal.

The Gunners have only managed to win three points out of a potential nine so far this season and are looking far from inspiring. Let’s hope this changes and Alexis doesn’t do a runner like Costa.
