Marc Bola was a standout performer against Blackpool, Lucas Perez featured against Espanyol and Nwakali, Mavididi and Asano made substitute appearances for their loan sides.

Marc Bola continues to go from strength to strength. The full-back has now played three full matches in a week for Bristol Rovers, most recently featuring at right-back, a more unfamiliar role for the 19-year-old than his preferred left-back position.

Nevertheless, he performed well as Rovers beat Blackpool 3-1. The Bristol Rovers fans seemed happy with his contribution, with Bola winning man-of-the-match.

Meanwhile, Lucas Perez played 90 minutes in Deportivo’s trip to Espanyol. It ended up being a disappointing match as Depor lost 4-1, with Lucas uninvolved in the goal.

Kelechi Nwakali, Stephy Mavididi and Takuma Asano all made substitute appearances for their teams, and all three matches ended in draws. Asano’s Stuttgart and Mavididi’s Preston North End drew 0-0 to Ausburg and Millwall respectively. Meanwhile, Nwakali and VVV-Venlo managed their third 1-1 draw in a row to PEC Zwolle.

Emi Martinez was once again on the bench for Getafe, as they beat Villarreal 4-0. Martinez hasn’t yet made a competitive appearance for the Spanish side. Cohen Bramall wasn’t involved at all for Birmingham City.

Carl Jenkinson missed out for the Blues too, through injury. Joel Campbell is likely to do the same for Real Betis as he’s still recovering.
