Martin Keown believes that Arsenal are still some way off Manchester United and Manchester City in the Premier League.

Keown was pleased with Arsenal’s performance in their 2-0 victory over West Brom on Monday, but pointed out that they aren’t close to the top of the Premier League just yet.

“You have to say [it was] a professional performance from Arsenal – the referee played a major part and I’m sure Tony Pulis will have something to say about that,” Keown said, reports the Daily Star.

“Arsenal picked up three vital points but they are some way behind the top two in the Premier League at the moment.”

The referee did have a part to play in the first half, as he decided not to award a penalty to West Brom. Arsenal went on to control the second half of the game and earn a comfortable victory.

It’s also fair to say that Arsenal aren’t playing at the level Manchester City and Manchester United are at the moment. The two Manchester clubs are unbeaten so far this season, scoring plenty of goals and conceding few.

Arsenal at the moment are searching for form after a rocky start to the campaign. The win over West Brom wasn’t the prettiest win around, nor did it get anyone excited about Arsenal’s title hopes this season.

However, it was Arsenal’s fourth win from their last five games, and their four clean-sheet during that run. With upcoming games against BATE Borisov and Brighton, we have a chance to extend that good run.
