Arsenal could face competition from Inter Milan for Paris Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to latest reports.

Arsenal are interested in the French midfielder, who has yet to sign a new contract with PSG despite his current deal expiring in 2019. According to Calciomercato via the Mirror, Arsenal will face competition from Tottenham and Inter Milan.

Inter’s interest stems from director Walter Sabatini being a big fan of the player, who he tried to sign for Roma three years ago, according to Football Italia.

However, they report that for any deal to happen, Rabiot would have to be promised he could play in his best position as a left-sided central midfielder and PSG would have to sign a replacement.

Rabiot is a first-team regular at the Parc des Princes, though I feel he does occasionally drop out of the side whenever manager Unai Emery opts for an extra attacker in the starting lineup. It seems unlikely that would stop him extending his deal with the Ligue 1 club, though.

The 22-year-old has made over 160 appearances for PSG since breaking through in 2013 and recently won his first caps for France. In my opinion, he’s the future of Paris Saint-Germain and not somebody the club would let go so easily.
