After making substitute appearances in the loss to Manchester City and draws against Sevilla and Burnley, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain finally made his full Liverpool debut in the Carabao Cup, and it didn’t go well.
Liverpool travelled to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City in the third round of the competition. Oxlade-Chamberlain was given a chance to show what he can do, and unfortunately for him that turned out to be very little.
Clips started to surface of some of Ox’s crosses and passes, and they were not exactly what you’d hope for from a £40m signing:

Arsenal fans were quick to come out with the ‘I told you so’ tweets, given the Gunners supporters have been trying to tell Liverpool fans about Ox’s final ball ever since he left:
I remember when Liverpool fans thought Arsenal fans were just bitter over Ox. We did try to tell you.

Have to give OX time, new league, new language & all that. Or you can just say he's playing his usual OX anonymous performance

But mostly fans just took the opportunity to have a laugh at the player’s expense:

At this rate, Perrie Edwards is going to leave Ox for Reiss Nelson.

Liverpool fans even started to turn on the Ox, as they were hoping that the League Cup would provide him with an opportunity to prove the doubters wrong. Instead, however, he ended up proving them right:
Klopp could have spent £40m from the Ox transfer on a decent centre back and we'd probably be fine, or at least wouldn't be in this mess.

Personally, I’m finding it hard to feel sorry for the midfielder after his final performance for Arsenal at Anfield and him turning down a big contract to stay with the Gunners. But perhaps some of you are more forgiving than I am.
