Everton are reportedly set to offer Idrissa Gueye a new bumper deal amid apparent interest from Arsenal.

Arsenal and Chelsea are both been said to be keen on Gueye as they look to bolster their midfield. However, Everton are reportedly set to tie the 28-year-old down to a new bumper deal in a bid to ward off the two London clubs.

Considering the defensive midfielder already allegedly earns around £45k-per-week, it’ll be interesting to see how much Everton are willing to offer him to ensure he stays with them.

Their top earner is said to be Morgan Schneiderlin, who’s supposedly on a respectable £120k-per-week.

Gueye only joined the Toffees from Aston Villa in August 2016 but Everton are allegedly eager to get him to stick around as he’s integral to Ronald Koeman’s plans for the long-term future.

The Senegal international has already started in all six of Everton’s Premier League games and featured in 35 last term. He even nabbed an assist against Manchester United during their 1-1 draw at Goodison Park in December.

Gueye has until 2020 on his current deal.

Could Arsenal actually be interested? Given Granit Xhaka’s poor performances this season, I wouldn’t rule it out. However, the Gunners only signed the 25-year-old for £35m last year. Would Arsene Wenger really give up on him that quickly?
