Julian Draxler has spoken about how close he and Mesut Ozil are.

Draxler, who was once again linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, has revealed that he and Ozil are incredibly close.

The 23-year-old has even named the playmaker as the person who makes him feel most at home.

“My good friend Mesut Ozil,” he replied when asked by DW Kick Off.

“We are born in the same city and I’ve always admired him, when I was young and he was becoming a professional.

“He’s a great player and I really enjoy every training session, every game with him.

“I’m sure we will have a lot of fun at the World Cup together.”

Despite Draxler staying at Paris Saint-Germain this summer, he’s still being heavily linked with a move away from France since the Ligue 1 club splashed out a reported £200m on Neymar and brought Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe on board.

Arsenal will most likely be linked with a move for the Germany international again since we sold Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool in the summer and could lose Alexis Sanchez next year. Whether the Gunners will actually be interested this time around is another matter.

Draxler also has to want to move to Arsenal, since his agent claimed he was happy to stay put in the summer (via Metro). Just because he’s buddies with Ozil, doesn’t mean he wants to move to north London.

Mesut Ozil may not actually be at Arsenal for too much longer anyway since Arsene Wenger has confirmed that talks over a new deal for the 28-year-old have stalled.
