Some Arsenal fans have called on Arsenal to replace Arsène Wenger with Carlo Ancelotti, after the Italian was sacked by Bayern Munich today.

Bayern Munich sacked Ancelotti after the Bundesliga side suffered a 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

In response, some Arsenal fans have taken to social media to express their opinion that Ancelotti should be the man to replace Arsène Wenger, either now, next season, or when the Frenchman’s contract ends in 2019.

Ancelotti has been one of the names fans who want Wenger out have pointed to in the past as a possible replacement. This latest news has only increased that shout.

Personally, I don’t think it’s likely that Arsenal would get rid of Arsène Wenger when he’s just signed a new contract and the team have actually started to hit some good form.

Perhaps if Ancelotti had left Bayern in August around the same time Arsenal lost to Stoke and Liverpool, then maybe it would be a possibility.

But after the Gunners played so well against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and won every other match in September, it’s very hard to see the board being motivated to move for the Italian at Wenger’s expense.
