Arsène Wenger is set to hold “showdown talks” with the Arsenal squad, after their disappointing start to the season.

It’s the usual article we get every single season from one publication or another, but this time The Sun has decided to throw it out extra early, with the ‘crisis talks’ apparently about to take place after only three games of the league season.

There’s no source given for the information, which makes it more than a bit unclear where this report originated from, especially given Wenger hasn’t even given it yet.

Arsenal haven’t had a good start, with their 4-0 defeat to Liverpool being embarrassing, but Mesut Özil alluded in a recent statement that media talk has only intensified the fallout.

As a result, it seems to me that The Sun thought it was time to hit send on their buzzword article about “showdown talks” and the “crisis” Arsène Wenger has with his “flops” who need to “save their season”.

Arsenal need to improve from what we’ve seen so far. Wenger and his team need to do something to motivate the squad, for sure.

For me, that needs to be out on the training pitch and in pre-match tactical discussions. I can’t see some kind of showdown with the players changing anything.

If reports are to be believed, they’ve heard it all before.
