Arsenal are interested in Le Havre defender Harold Moukoudi, according to reports.

Arsenal have been linked with another obscure young defender from France.

This time, it’s Le Havre’s 19-year-old centre back Harold Moukoudi who, according to Metro, is interesting Arsenal.

They report that Arsenal are so interested that a deal could be completed during the January transfer window.

Moukoudi made seven appearances for Le Havre in Ligue 2 last season, and has already made nine league appearances so far this season.

The France youth international comes from a highly-rated academy that has produced the likes of Benjamin Mendy, Dimitri Payet and Paul Pogba over the years.

Arsenal will soon be in the market for a centre back as Per Mertesacker will be retiring in the summer to become the club’s Academy director.

However, with Rob Holding and even Calum Chambers already at the club as young centre backs, Arsenal may look for a more experienced replacement.

Moukoudi is also allegedly attracting interest from Nice, Bordeaux and RB Leipzig. With such little first team experience, it may make more sense for him to join one of those clubs first before making the big step-up to Arsenal.
