Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the progress of Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura, as a secondary option to Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.

The Brazilian may struggle for regular first-team football for Paris Saint-Germain this season, which could give Arsenal the opportunity to sign him. According to Calciomercato, Arsenal are still monitoring the 25-year-old.

Moura was a regular for PSG last season and scored 19 goals. However, the signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, plus competition from the likes of Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler, has pushed him down the pecking order.

Arsenal happen to be looking at wide players, especially as they could soon be losing Alexis Sanchez. It’s no secret that the Gunners’ preferred target is Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, but Moura could well be a cheaper alternative if we can’t make that deal happen.

Arsenal have also been linked with Moura’s teammate, Julian Draxler, for similar reasons. However, Draxler did at least start in PSG’s most recent win against FC Metz and seems to still be in Unai Emery’s plans.

Moura signed for Paris Saint-Germain in 2013 and has made 212 appearances for the club. Arsenal are yet to make an official approach but may look to strengthen their attack in January if Alexis does indeed leave for Manchester City.
