Arsenal are interested in Fulham youngster Matt O’Riley, according to reports.

O’Riley is a creative midfielder and is earning attention from Premier League sides.

According to The Mirror, Arsenal and Manchester City are both interested in him and will now be keeping tabs on his performances.

The 16-year-old has already made his first team debut for Fulham when he started in their Carabao Cup first found win over Wycombe.

He also started in their second round defeat to Bristol Rovers, and has played for the Fulham u21 side in the Checkatrade Trophy.

His performances have earned him a call-up to the England u17 side and he is set to be a part of the squad taking part in the u17 World Cup in India next month.

When it comes to young, exciting English talent, Arsenal and City are never too far away.

The two clubs have competed with each other for young players in the past. Patrick Roberts, another Fulham product, an example of this.

On that occasion, City beat Arsenal to his signature.

O’Riley has already been identified as one for the future at Fulham by manager Slavisa Jokanovic, who said: “I expect he can be an important player for our club in the future.”
