Arsenal could hijack Fiorentina’s deal for Serbian youngster Dusan Vlahovic, according to reports.

The 17-year-old is due to join Fiorentina after the Italian side agreed terms with Partizan Belgrade. However, according to Sportmediaset via Tribal Football, Fiorentina fear that Arsenal could make an offer the striker and price them out.

The report says Fiorentina could “bring plans forward” to have Vlahovic in the Violas’ squad to fend off competition from other clubs. Arsenal, Juventus, and Anderlecht were linked with the talented teenager during his breakthrough season, but it was the Serie A outfit who moved first to get an agreement.

Vlahovic made his Partizan debut in 2016, becoming their youngest ever player to represent the senior side. He also became the youngest player to play in the “Eternal” derby against Red Star Belgrade. The 17-year-old is also Partizan’s youngest goalscorer.

He netted three times in 18 appearances during his first season, and has already made nine appearances this campaign. The Serbian forward is known for his height, standing at six foot three, and has made eight appearances for the u19 national team.

Arsenal may have to move fast to sign the attacker given the deal to join Fiorentina looks all but confirmed.
