Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is reportedly ‘plan A’ for Real Madrid, who will go for Tottenham’s Harry Kane if they can’t land the Chilean international.

Real Madrid are in need of a striker and have identified Alexis as their first choice. That’s according to Don Balon, who claim that if they can’t sign Alexis, they will turn to “plan b” Harry Kane.

Alexis’ contract expires at the end of the season. He’s expected to join Manchester City, either in January or next summer, after he came close to joining them on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid’s interest could be ideal for Arsenal if they fail to convince Alexis to sign a new contract during the season. After selling Alvaro Morata to Chelsea in the summer, Karim Benzema is their only senior striker.

His back-up currently is young striker Borja Mayoral, who scored in Real’s 3-1 win over Sociedad on Sunday. Kane would reportedly be their back-up choice if they can’t sign Alexis, as they seem him as a more long-term option.

The 24-year-old has been prolific at Spurs. It’d be quite handy if Real Madrid can take him out of the Premier League, in my opinion.
