AC Milan have joined Premier League Arsenal and Everton in the race for Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto, according to latest reports.

The 21-year-old has been impressing for Udinese in Serie A and is now attracting the interest of AC Milan. That’s according to Calciomercato via talkSPORT, who claim that Everton and Arsenal are still keen on his signature despite little progress on signing him being made over the summer.

The Czech midfielder had a breakthrough season with Udinese last year, scoring seven goals in 35 appearances. He now seems to be a first-team regular with the Serie A club, having started in all four of their Serie A games so far. He has a goal and an assist to his name as well.

Jankto can play either as a central midfielder or as a wide player. Three of his appearances so far have come from the left of midfield. He’s also broken into the Czech Republic national team, winning six senior caps.

Milan’s interest comes as no surprise, given that they signed an entire new team during the summer. At the moment, they are being linked with just about any half-decent Serie A player, I feel.

Likewise Everton, who also had a very busy transfer market, are being linked with several players due to spending large sums of money on a lot of new arrivals. I believe competition from those two clubs might not be as serious as suggested.
