As many as seven clubs around Europe are reported to have lodged a bid for Arsenal striker Lucas Perez this summer, and this video may explain why.

Arsenal’s attempts to sell Lucas Perez have dragged on all summer due to a lack of teams willing to pay their asking price. However, according to the Daily Star, there are as many as seven different clubs interested in signing him. This video might be why:

Deportivo, Fenerbahce and Newcastle have been the most recently linked. In addition to those, Bayer Leverkusen, Everton, Valencia and Levante are also said to be interested. This could be the reason why Arsenal have been reluctant to reduce their £13m asking price.

Lucas would prefer to return to Deportivo, but they don’t have the funds to buy him outright. Arsenal are apparently willing to let him leave on loan to Depor and have been working out terms.

Fenerbahce were also interested in taking Lucas on loan, while Newcastle have expressed an interest but have yet to make an offer to Arsenal. Lucas has been available since the beginning of the summer.

That a move hasn’t happened yet has been frustrating for all involved. This feels like a saga that will run all the way to deadline day.
