Arsenal are concerned that 18-year-old midfielder Marcus McGuane could leave the club, amid interest from Manchester United and Juventus, and this latest video might explain why.

The Daily Star is calling McGuane ‘the next Paul Pogba’ and claim that a number of European clubs are keen on his signature. The 18-year-old took part in some skill drills with My Personal Football Coach and Isaksson-Hurst, who had a lot of praise for the young midfielder.

“Marcus came to me in preseason with an ambition to work on several elements of his game. He is one of the most dedicated and driven young players that I have worked with and I know he has a big future in front of him,” he said.

The Arsenal midfielder is in the final year of his contract with Arsenal, and made a total of 17 appearances for the u18s last season, as well as nine for the u23s.

The tough-tackling player also captained the England u18s last campaign and has proven to be quite versatile on the pitch. In 2016/17 he mostly played as defensive-midfielder, but also as a more advanced central-midfielder, as well as appearing as part of the Arsenal back four.

McGuane even made one appearance at left-midfield, showing his ability to adapt to the needs of the team. Most recently he has appeared back in the centre, however, coming off the bench in both of Arsenal’s u23 matches this season.

This season, I feel that he will get more chances to play more regularly for the Premier League 2 side, rather than mixing between the u23s and the u18s like last campaign. Whether this is enough to convince the player to commit his future to the Gunners remains to be seen.
