Jack Wilshere is back in action after making his first appearance since April for Arsenal’s u23s against Derby County on Monday night.

The Young Guns manager to come from 2-0 down against Derby in their first Premier League 2 match of the season to win 3-2 after Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah both scored after the half-hour mark.

Wilshere also played his first 73 minutes since he was sidelined back in April.

The midfielder suffered another hairline fracture to his fibula after colliding with Harry Kane while on loan at Bournemouth.

This was the second time he’s suffered an injury of this nature so he’s bound to be thankful that rather than being sidelined for almost an entire year, this time he was only out of action for around four months.

Despite impressing for Arsenal’s u23s, there’s still talk of the 25-year-old leaving this summer seeing as he’s only got a year left on his current deal. The Gunners don’t appear to be offering him a new one so unless they’re willing to allow him to go for free in 2018, they’ll most likely sell him soon.

Juventus, West Ham and Newcastle have all been linked with the England international and while it was rumoured that he wanted to stay and fight for a place in Arsenal’s first team earlier in the summer, it’s now suspected that he’s resigned himself to leaving.
