Arsenal club captain Per Mertesacker and manager Arsene Wenger took part in a rapid fire Q&A session together.

This is a regular feature on Arsenal Player. Pairs of players throw questions ranging from serious to ridiculous at each other and have only a short time to answer. The pair covered a number of topics, from favourite pets to preferred holiday destinations, reports talkSPORT.

Highlights include Wenger’s flummoxed reaction to Mertesacker saying guinea pigs were his favourite animal and Mertesacker awkwardly side-stepping question about who would look better in thirty years.

Interestingly, Wenger would prefer to visit a place where the sun doesn’t rise, despite spending a couple years of his life living in Japan. Mertesacker, meanwhile, will be pleased to know that he’ll get a start in the FA Cup final if Arsenal ever had a striker crisis.

His performance against Chelsea in last season’s FA Cup final was legendary. Only an appearance as an emergency striker would top it. Mertesacker will soon be Arsenal’s head of academy, solidifying his legendary status at the club, let alone among supporters.
