Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly trying to snatch Manchester City’s Jadon Sancho away from  fellow suitors Arsenal this summer, and are preparing a bid to secure his signature.

Metro report that Spurs are trying to sign the youngster and are preparing a £3m offer to put to City. Sancho is considered to be one of the top English prospects in youth football at the moment, but he’s currently going through some difficulties in his career.

Although he’s been at Manchester City and progressing well, he’s reportedly grown homesick and wants a return to London. As a result, he has failed to turn up for training for a few weeks as he tries to force a move.

Arsenal should be well placed to make a move. For a start, the Gunners have a good record with giving young players chances in the first-team, but there’s also a personal connection to Sancho in the current academy.

Reiss Nelson is best friends with the City teenager, and has made no secret of his desire to bring him to the Emirates Stadium. In one of Sancho’s recent Instagram posts, he hinted at a move to London, saying “coming soon” along with the below picture:

Nelson and Eddie Nketiah both commented on the post, Nelson saying “please come to Arsenal”, and Eddie posting “choose Arsenal please bro”.

Clearly the two England youth internationals want to see Sancho join up with them in North London. Whether this Spurs interest will throw a spanner in the works remains to be seen.
