With Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock, Cohen Bramall and Ainsley Maitland-Niles having all been promoted to Arsenal’s first team, we look ahead to the Europa League and who might feature.

Arsene Wenger has already hinted that he won’t be taking a full-strength side to play in Arsenal’s Europa League fixtures this season and with several youngsters being promoted to the first team, it looks as if the boss could field a young starting XI.

The boss has said that he wants to focus on the Premiership this season and therefore the Europa League is a great opportunity to give some young, promising starlets a chance to play in a big competition without the pressure that the Champions League would carry.

“For us it is a good opportunity to focus completely on the Premier League,” Wenger said earlier this month.

“I would say that the Premier League has, in my opinion, taken over from the Champions League interest-wise.

“I will always play a team that has a good chance to win the next game.

“In the Europa League if we can afford sometimes to rest some players we will do it.

“But we have to adapt to the level of the competition and see first what kind of group we play in.

“You cannot go into the season and think that [the Champions League spot for the winner].

“I always was not in favour of that, because I think at some stage it can influence on the championship.

“Because if a team is in April in a position where they have more chance to win the Europa League they can let some games go in the championship, and not completely focus on that competition.”

However, on the other hand, given that Arsenal are at 6/1 to win the entire tournament, perhaps it would be worth a shot?

Last term, the Gunners finished outside the top four for the first time in two decades and while we could spend the entire season dwelling on that, instead, it would be far more useful to either bring the likes of Nelson, Willock, Bramall and Maitland-Niles, as well as a few older faces, and concentrate on winning the title for the first time since 2004, or go all out to win the entire tournament.

What most Gooners don’t want to see is key players travel off to the Europa League with the youngsters, so we risk them but don’t really try. No half measures – quite literally go big or go home.
