Alexis Sanchez has told his Chile teammates that he’ll be moving to Manchester City, according to reports.

The Chilean is reportedly very happy as he told his fellow countryman that he’s be completing a move to City. That’s according to La Tercera, who report that his teammates cheered and applauded when he announced the news.

Alexis appears to be edging closer to the move he wants, with reports earlier of Arsenal and City agreeing a fee, at least in principal. The move is now said to be dependent on Arsenal signing a replacement – currently Monaco’s Thomas Lemar – something that apparently isn’t a problem for Alexis.

There were concerns this morning that the 28-year-old might not have enough time to complete his medical due to the ongoing negotiations. However, going by this reaction in Chile, we assume that’s not going to be an issue.

Alexis’ Chile play Paraguay tonight in a World Cup qualifier and will now “give everything” as the deal, in his mind at least, is sorted. As for the Gunners, they’ll be desperately trying to bring a replacement in before the deadline to soften the blow of the Chilean’s departure.
