Watford have reportedly pulled out of the deal to sign Kieran Gibbs.

The Hornets were reportedly forced to pull out of the deal to sign Gibbs because personal terms couldn’t be agreed.

The defender, who made just 11 Premier League appearances for Arsenal last season, allegedly receives £60k-per-week and it seems that he’s not willing to take a pay cut.

The only player who earns more than that at Watford is Troy Deeney (£100kpw).

Watford were linked with the left-back earlier in the window but talks allegedly broke down for the same reason, as well as the fact that Arsenal were reportedly asking for £16m for the Englishman at the time.

However, as Transfer Deadline Day looms, the Gunners were said to have lowered their asking price and, together with the Hornets, had agreed a £7m transfer fee.

Then Gibbs has to go and ruin it with his unreasonable demands.

If the 27-year-old doesn’t lower his wage demands soon, Arsenal may have to allow him to leave for free when his contract runs out next year.

West Brom now have a clear shot at signing him.
