Despite being lauded for their attitude towards not spending this summer, Tottenham Hotspur reportedly have their eye on Nice midfielder Jean-Michel Seri.

According to L’Equipe [via Daily Star] Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino, allegedly has his eye on Seri, who’s been heavily linked with Arsenal this summer.

The 26-year-old would reportedly set either north London club back £35.8m (€40m). However, Tottenham have the £50m Manchester City amusingly paid for Kyle Walker sitting in their bank account.

Interestingly, back in June, Seri was only reportedly valued at £17.6m (€20m), so goodness knows why his price has doubled in under two months.

He was also said to have agreed a €35m deal with Roma recently, which again, obviously wasn’t true.

Seri has two years left on his current deal with Ligue 1’s Nice. Last season, he made 39 appearances, scoring seven goals and assisting nine.

Apart from Alexandre Lacazette, he was the only player outside of Monaco and PSG to make Ligue 1 Team of the Year.

Seri signed for Nice from Portuguese side, Paços de Ferreira, in 2015 and before that he played for Porto’s B team.

He received his first call-up for the Ivory Coast the same year he joined Nice, and has gone on to be capped 14 times and score once.
