Mesut Ozil has been called-up for Germany’s upcoming international games but it was a different story for two other Arsenal players.

While Ozil is set to be in action for Germany during their 2018 World Cup qualifiers against the Czech Republic on 1 September and Norway three days later, Shkodran Mustafi was snubbed.

The 25-year-old has been capped 19 times for Germany since his first call-up in 2014 and has even scored twice for his country.

The centre-back played a full 90 minutes against Chile during the Confederations Cup final on 2 July.

Interestingly, Ozil was left out of the Confederations Cup, presumably to get a proper rest over the summer, so perhaps Mustafi is being dropped for the ‘real’ international clashes.

Hector Bellerin has also been snubbed by not just Spain’s senior side but their u21s as well.

The right-back, who’s not been great for around a year now, has only been capped three times for Spain’s first team, playing a total of 224 minutes. So it’s hardly a shock that they’ve left him out. Although, he was on the bench for Euro 2016.

However, it’s a little more of a surprise that he’s been left out of the u21 squad’s clash against Estonia, as he’s been getting called up for them since 2015.

The 22-year-old featured heavily in the u21 Euros this summer, playing a total of 360 minutes.
