Shkodran Mustafi looks set to stay at Arsenal after Inter Milan failed to agree a deal.

Mustafi looked close to a move to Serie A after Arsenal entered talks with the Italians over a possible loan deal. However, according to the Mirror, Inter have failed to offer terms to the Gunners’ liking and Mustafi could end up staying at the club.

For reasons we’re still not clear about, Arsenal were willing to let Mustafi go to Inter. However, they would only let him go if they received £35m – either now or at the end of a loan.

Reports emerged that the 25-year-old had agreed personal terms and that Arsenal and the Nerazurri were working out a loan deal. It now seems that the Serie A giants were unable to offer the money the Londoners wanted.

It’s possible that Inter may sell a player or two to free up the funds to get Mustafi, but they don’t have long left to do so. The German international staying at Arsenal would likely mean that whatever interest there is in West Brom’s Jonny Evans will now be dropped, I feel.
