Arsenal and Manchester City are reportedly battling it out for Bayern Munich and France winger Kingsley Coman.

Arsenal continued to be linked with the  21-year-old, despite the fact he just signed for Bayern on a permanent deal this summer. According to Telefoot, Manchester City are also interested in the player whom Arsenal reportedly made an enquiry for last month.

The Gunners won’t have much to worry about from City here, as there’s no chance that Bayern will sell Coman. The Bundesliga champions allowed Douglas Costa to move to Juventus this summer, presumably with the intention of giving more starts to Coman this season, I think.

Kingsley Coman
Kingsley Coman has already won titles in France, Italy and Germany at the age of 21.

They’re also very unlikely to sell a player who has not long been at the club on a permanent deal either. The report claims that Coman could be an alternative for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, a player Arsenal have been targeting for a long time, but have yet to reach an agreement.

Coman contributed three goals in 10 Bundesliga starts for Bayern Munich last season and is highly decorated despite his young age. The winger has already won two Ligue 1 titles with Paris Saint-Germain (2012/13, 2013/14), the Serie A title with Juventus (2014/15) and two Bundesliga titles with Bayern (2015/16, 2016/17).

With the transfer window coming to a close soon, Arsenal could have to look at other targets. If that does end up being the case, you’d imagine the Gunners will target players that are actually attainable.
