Manchester City representatives are in Chile to negotiate personal terms with Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.

Arsenal and Manchester City entered discussions about Alexis yesterday and while nothing was agreed, it seemed the two clubs were finally negotiating. According to El Mercurio, City have sent representatives to Chile to discuss personal terms with Alexis ahead of a potential move.

The report states that City will offer the Chilean a four-year contract worth around £10m-a-year. Yesterday, it was reported that Alexis would ask Chile for permission to travel back to England for 24 hours to sort out personal issues.

While that may not happen, there’s nothing stopping City going to see the Arsenal man in Chile and negotiating with his representatives, as I’m sure they’ve been doing all summer. The Gunners are said to still be reluctant to sell the 28-year-old, at least for pure cash. They want a player in exchange, namely Sergio Aguero or Raheem Sterling.

That the two clubs are talking now is progress, and although an agreement has yet to be reached, more progress could be made in the next couple of days.
