According to reports in Spain, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has turned his attentions from Alexis Sanchez to Eden Hazard.

Don Balon via the the Express claim Guardiola is turning to Hazard as Arsenal are refusing to negotiate over the Chilean. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger previously told the media that Alexis “will accept” the decision from the club to keep him, leading to Manchester City to try their hand at another target.

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid in the past, but the Blues have never shown willingness to sell, nor has the Belgian international wanted to leave. Manchester City have stiff competition in attack so their interest in Hazard seems strange to me.

City have already spent over £200m on new players this summer, boasting an attack featuring the likes of Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero. Chelsea have no need to sell Hazard given he has three years left, and if they did he wouldn’t come cheap.

Arsenal’s stance on Alexis Sanchez appears to be putting off suitors this summer, leading them to look at other targets. But Manchester City may find Chelsea just as stubborn at the Gunners in regard to selling Hazard.
