Inter Milan are trying to make a loan move for Caen winger Yann Karamoh, a player on the radar of Arsenal this summer, according to latest reports in Italy.

Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio had previously claimed that Karamoh had decided against a move to the Premier League and Arsenal, and that Inter Milan were the player’s most likely destination.

Now, however, La Gazzetta dello Sport is claiming that talks with Inter Milan have stalled, and the option that the Italian club are pushing for is a loan deal. Karamoh only has a year left on his contract with Caen, so before any loan deal can be agreed, the teenager would first have to extend his contract.

He’s still very young, having had his 19th birthday over the summer, but has already made 36 senior appearances for Caen. Last season, the Frenchman scored five goals and provided four assists playing largely on the wing.

Karamoh has also appeared at almost every level for the French youth teams, most recently playing for the u21s in June. The forward is 6’1″ and came through the academy with Caen before making his debut in Ligue 1 on August 13, 2016.

Unless something has changed the young player’s mind, there’s nothing to suggest that talks with Inter Milan stalling means Karamoh is on his way to North London, especially if Di Marzio’s claims are true. But with eight days left of the transfer window, we’ll know soon enough where his future lies.
