Ian Wright tweeted his disappointment after Sunday’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool, saying that he felt for the fans after the game.

The Arsenal legend regularly tweets in support of the Gunners, but on this occasion there was nothing positive to say about the team, after a disastrous performance left Arsenal on the end of a 4-0 loss at Anfield.

Ian Wright was just as devastated as any other fan watching the game and took time to highlight the emotions the supporters at the stadium were likely going through.

The team simply didn’t show anything to support. Wrighty accused them of having no heart, and on the evidence of that match it’s hard to argue.

There’s no doubt that the fans did not get their money’s worth on Sunday. For a match like Liverpool at Anfield, only supporters with a large number of away credits can get tickets, meaning those attending are loyal fans who regularly follow Arsenal around the country.

Travelling over 200 miles from London to Liverpool, paying for transport and tickets, those loyal fans then had to sit through one of the worst Arsenal performances of recent years.

Wrighty rightly pointed out how embarrassing it must’ve been sitting in those away seats. Liverpool fans certainly wouldn’t have any reason to hold back with their chanting and jeering of the Gunners’ support.

To lose is expected on occasion, but a display like that isn’t good enough.
