Olivier Giroud is reportedly still open to a move to Borussia Dortmund despite publicly confirming that he’ll be staying at Arsenal.

Despite Giroud confirming that he’s decided to stay at Arsenal, reports from France are claiming that if Dortmund should return for him, he could leave.

According to Le10 Sport [via Tribal Football], the 30-year-old is keen on the idea of playing in the Bundesliga and since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele are both being linked with moves to AC Milan and Barcelona respectively, Dortmund could be on the look-out for a new striker with Giroud supposedly being up on their list of potential replacements.

The German club were allegedly interested in the France international earlier in the summer when Aubameyang was first being linked with a move away.

West Ham and Everton were also linked, with the Gunners reportedly demanding £20m.

However, after scoring Arsenal’s winning goal against Leicester on Friday, Giroud revealed that something in his heart and soul told him to stay in north London.

“There was something in my soul and in my heart which told me to stay,” Giroud said.

“I’ve been hesitating because I’m the most happy man when I play and I am on the pitch.

“But I keep the faith and I still believe I can have an important part to play this season in the club and I feel good in my head and also physically.

“So I am 100% focused on the club project. I’ve been through five amazing years here so I felt like the story had to continue.

“There are nice days to come from me in an Arsenal shirt.”

The big guy is genuinely loved by Arsenal fans, with many keen for Arsene Wenger to give him another chance in the starting line-up.

The striker also seems to really love the club, which is pretty rare these days.

Would Giroud really have his head turned if Dortmund came a-knocking? Firstly, I don’t think they will, and secondly, if they do, I reckon he’ll give it another season at Arsenal first. He has two years left on his contract, which he only extended at the beginning of the year, and doesn’t appear to be giving up without a fight.
