Fans on Twitter are split on whether Arsenal should pursue Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling in a swap deal for Alexis Sanchez.

BBC Sport suggest that Manchester City want to bring Alexis Sanchez in before the end of the window, and although they would prefer to pay cash, Arsenal may consider trying to include Sterling in a swap deal, as the English international “would be interested in making a move back to London”.

So, fans have been reacting to the news all morning, and it’s fair to say there isn’t much of a consensus yet. As usual, the Arsenal fanbase is split, this time into those who want Sterling and those who don’t, reports Football.London.

First up, those who want the move. After contributing 31 goals in all competitions last season, as well as scoring two in the current campaign, some see the 22-year-old as a good replacement for Alexis.

Then there are those who aren’t interested. Some question whether Sterling’s final ball is good enough, or whether he is good enough full stop.

Finally, some were worried that even if Sterling did sign for the Gunners, he wouldn’t be played in the correct position anyway after Wenger’s recent starting line-ups.

All in all, his arrival at the Emirates would likely lead to a polarising reaction. Some like the City winger, some don’t. I question whether such a deal would go ahead, in any case.
