Julian Draxler will turn down a move to Borussia Dortmund, according to reports.

Draxler could leave Paris Saint-Germain this week and has been linked with just about every top club around. There were reports that he could join Borussia Dortmund as a replacement for Ousmane Dembele. However, according to La Parisien via Football.London, Draxler isn’t keen on a move due to his affiliation with Schalke, one of Dortmund’s biggest rivals.

This could be a boost for Arsenal, who have also been linked with Draxler and may need a big signing to placate a very disappointed fanbase. The winger has suddenly become available after PSG signed Neymar. Due to Financial Fair Play regulations, PSG may have to sell a number of squad players to balance the books.

With Draxler’s position in the team taken, it looks likely that he’ll be one of those players. Arsenal have just four days to improve their squad ahead of what’s looking like a long and arduous season.

Another winger may not be high on the priority list, but bringing in a high-profile player who can genuinely excite people could go some way towards improving the mood of the fanbase.
