Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain allegedly ‘liked’ a comment claiming that he’s signing for Liverpool for £28m, fueling speculation that the 23-year-old is on his way to Merseyside.

The Ox apparently clicked ‘like’ on an Instagram comment that claimed he was signing for Liverpool for £28m this summer.

While some claimed to screen-grab the supposed incident, others suggested that it could be a fake account, pointing out how his ‘like’ was no longer visible, to which others replied that he ‘unliked’ it quickly afterwards.

First of all, a like on Instagram doesn’t mean anything, whether it’s deliberate or accidental, and second, we have no way of knowing this actually happened, just a screen-grab.

Interestingly, however, this isn’t the first time that the Ox has been accused of liking something on social media that he perhaps shouldn’t.

Oxlade Chamberlain liked an anti Arsene Wenger tweet 818395

Back in February, the midfielder accidentally liked a video from Arsenal Fan TV with the title, ‘Wenger needs to go’. Coincidentally, this was after the Gunners lost 3-1 away to Chelsea.

He later denied meaning to like it and claimed he hadn’t realised.

Does the Ox just have really twitchy thumbs or is he secretly trying to wind people up? I’m guessing the former.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool for weeks after he reportedly turned down the chance to sign a £100k-per-week extension at Arsenal.

The England international apparently wants assurances that he’ll get regular first team football before putting pen to paper.

However, the links with Jurgen Klopp’s side have quietened down in recent weeks, with Arsene Wenger insisting that the Ox is staying put.
