Charlie Devlin and Chloe Kelly have left Arsenal to join Millwall and Everton respectively.

Charlotte Devlin has made a permanent move to Millwall Lionesses following her Spring Series loan with the Londoners.

She impressed and was an integral part of the side during their impressive season, forging an excellent partnership with England U17 international Ella Rutherford.

It’s is the right move for development as opportunities to play for Arsenal’s first-team would likely be non-existent considering the number of forwards at the club.

The other forward on the move is Chloe Kelly who is going on a season-long loan to Everton Ladies.

The England U19 striker went to Merseyside for a three-month loan back in 2016 and will rejoin a club that has been promoted to FA WSL 1 following Notts County’s unexpected folding.

Again, the loan move makes sense as first-team football at Everton will help her development rather than getting justa handful of minutes at Arsenal.

With so many attacking players vying for just a small amount of places in the Arsenal side, it was not going to be an easy season for fringe players.

Adding those two departures to Carla Humphrey’s one, it is obvious that Pedro Losa thinks the young forwards who have come from the youth system are not ready to play for the Arsenal first-team.
