With the transfer window at an end, here are 5 things you can do to fill the void.

The transfer window is an event that lasts for three months. It dominates the media and becomes a part of people’s everyday lives. If people aren’t digesting real news about players moving, they’re looking up the latest rumours and letting their imagination run wild. Or, if you’re an Arsenal fan, getting your hopes and having them ruthlessly crushed by reality.

Now that the window is closed, we’re sure many of you may struggle to fill the empty space.

So, here are five things you can now to whittle away the days:

1. Complain on Twitter

If there’s a football fan in the world who doesn’t complain, I’ve yet to meet them. Twitter was practically designed to be a platform for disgruntled fans to air their opinion and has, over the years, built a thriving community of football fans. Complaints are always greeted with polite, stimulating debate, especially complaints about Arsenal. Not only that, but there are many topics about Arsenal that haven’t been explored.

2. Crowdfund a plane to carry a #WengerOut banner

If you’re not content with complaining and feel that your voice isn’t being heard, there is another option for you.

A popular trend in football now is to hire a plane to fly over a game of football carrying a banner emblazoned with a clear and succinct message. It’s completely harmless and not at all distracting.

Creating the banner and hiring the plane can be costly, but don’t worry. You can set up a crowdfunding scheme with the many like-minded fans out there. You’ll have enough money in no time.

3. Set-up your own Youtube channel

Alternatively, you could access a wide audience by expressing your views in front of a video camera and uploading the video to Youtube. It’s a new market, ripe with unexplored avenues. Record yourself ranting incoherently on your phone and you’re good to go.

If you’re feeling really ambitious, you could round up some of your mates and stand outside the stadium on matchdays. Win, lose or draw, you’re bound to have a wide-ranging amount of opinions that will go viral in no time.

4. Watch cricket – it’s a lot less stressful

If football is getting you down, there are always other sports. Cricket is a good one. The matches are long, not a lot happens and the rhythmic smacking of ball against bat will lull you into a deep sleep.

As an added bonus, cricket isn’t burdened by the same media circus as football. There are no transfer rumours and very few scandals. Just 22 men running about chucking a hard ball of cork and twine at each other.

5. Chill-out – it’s only football!

Finally, the best thing you can do is relax and take it easy.

Football is an emotional game, but it is, when it’s all said and done, still a game.

Arsenal will win some and lose some. They’ll be brilliant one week and awful the next. Whatever happens is out of our control.

So it’s always worth remembering that no matter what Arsenal do, there’s more to life than just them, and many more constructive things you can do than let them get you down.
