Arsenal defender Cohen Bramall could be loaned to Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam ahead of the new season, according to latest reports.

The 21-year-old wing-back made his first appearances for the Arsenal first-team in pre-season this summer after joining from Hednesford Town in January. Now according to Goal, Bramall could be loaned to Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam to continue his development.

With Kieran Gibbs, Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal as left wing-back options, there would be few opportunities for Bramall to play in the Arsenal first-team this coming season. It seems the Netherlands is a popular destination for English teams to send their young players on loan too.

Arsenal sent former midfielder Dan Crowley to Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles last season, while Chelsea send several of their youngsters to the Eredivisie as part of their partnership with Vitesse.

Bramall did okay during Arsenal’s summer friendlies, but also showed how raw he is at this level, I feel. A loan move certainly seems to be the next logical step for him. He would surely relish the chance to play first-team football in the Eredivisie this season.

The left-back signed for Arsenal seven months ago after a successful trial. In a short space of time, he went from being made redundant from his factory job to playing against Bayern Munich and Chelsea in China. Quite some step.
