Birmingham City have confirmed the loan signings of Arsenal defenders Carl Jenkinson and Cohen Bramall.

The duo will spend the season on loan in the Championship with Harry Redknapp’s team.

The deal appears to be a regular loan with no option to buy on either player. Both players have been signed in time to feature in this week’s round of Carabao Cup fixtures, where Birmingham play Bournemouth.

Arsenal had been trying to sell Jenkinson all summer but have now settled on a loan deal. The hope will now be that he can have a good season and convince someone to sign him permanently. His contract with the London club is up in the summer.

Bramall, on the other hand, will be having his first taste of first-team football after signing from Hednesford Town last January. The left-back featured during Arsenal’s pre-season and will be gaining valuable experience in the Championship.

Jenkinson has been given the number 22 shirt, while Bramall will wear 15.
