Eintracht Frankfurt director Bruno Hubner has said that Krystian Bielik is not ready for a loan to the Bundesliga.

It was reported that the Polish defender was on the verge of joining of Frankfurt on a two year loan deal. However, it turned out that the information was premature and that the move had broken down due to a contract dispute.

Frankfurt director Bruno Hubner has now shed some more light on the deal, and has suggested that it didn’t go ahead due to Bielik not being ready for the Bundesliga yet.

Speaking to German outlet Kicker, Hubner said: “We retain a close and intensive contact with Arsenal and have talked again and again about this player. Bielik is a player with a lot of potential, however the Bundesliga would be too early for him.”

It makes you wonder why they held discussions in the first place if they thought the player wasn’t ready to play for them.

Bielik spent part of last season on loan at Birmingham City in the Championship and could be loaned out again this season, with Norwich and Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim also expressing an interest.

The 19-year-old has made the odd first-team appearance for Arsenal and is looking to step up his development after an impressive loan spell in 2016/17. Bielik made 10 appearances for Birmingham in the Championship, having previously featured in the Arsenal reserves.

Chances for the Gunners have been few and far between, but another temporary move away from London might be just what the player needs to mature and improve.
