Barcelona could make a bid for Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri next week, according to latest reports.

Barcelona could prove to be annoying once again as they’re about to make an effort to sign Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri. That’s according to Spanish newspaper Sport, who report that the Catalans are in constant contact with Seri’s entourage and will make their first bid next week.

Barcelona had been quiet in the window until they lost Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain. £198m richer, they could go on something of a spending spree to strengthen their squad before the start of the season.

Sport claim that Barcelona are too busy negotiating for Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele to focus on Seri now, but will make an effort to sign the Ivorian in due time.

Seri has been linked with Arsenal throughout the summer as the Gunners could be looking to strengthen their midfield. He apparently has a £35m release clause that Nice will not budge from, believed to be putting the Londoners off of signing him.

If Barcelona are about to get involved, Arsene Wenger will have to move quickly to sign the player.
