The latest club to be linked with a move for Jack Wilshere is Aston Villa but Steve Bruce has denied any interest.

Bruce insists that he has no idea where the rumour that Villa were going to launch a bid for Wilshere this summer came from, simply saying, “I don’t know where that comes from…”

Wilshere is set to leave Arsenal this summer after being at the club since he was just nine years old. The 25-year-old has less than a year on his current deal and given his injuries, which have prevented him from reaching his potential in north London, it looks as if the Gunners won’t be offering him a new one.

While the midfielder did impress for Arsenal’s u23s against Derby County in their opening Premier League 2 clash this week, we’ve seen it happen too many times before. Wilshere returns from injury, looks sharp and fit, plays a few games for the senior team and then gets injured again. It’s a never-ending cycle and I guess the club have decided that it has to stop.

Arsene Wenger has admitted that the Englishman could leave.

“That decision is not completely made,” Wenger said. “I want him to have a chance to play somewhere as well. We have to decide that a bit later. I wanted first him to come back, he is coming out of a fracture. It is the first week he is back in full training and we have to sit down together and see where we go from there.”

Newcastle, Juventus and West Ham have also been linked.
