Arsenal midfielder Jon Toral is having a medical at Hull City ahead of a season-long loan move.

The 22-year-old had reportedly agreed to join the Championship and, according to Sky Sports, is undergoing a medical and should soon become their ninth signing of the summer.

Confirmation of the deal shouldn’t be too far away. Toral’s first-team prospects at Arsenal are small, though it seems Arsenal aren’t quite willing to sell him just yet. He spent last season on loan at Granada and Rangers, and perhaps didn’t kick on as he would have hoped.

The season before he had a very successful year at Birmingham City, scoring eight goals and winning the Player of the Year awarded. Before then, he had a good loan spell at Brentford.

Toral is a proven performer in the Championship and should be able to impress for Leonid Slutskiy’s team as they try and bounce straight back into the Premier League. The midfielder joined Arsenal in 2012, but has yet to make a first team appearance for the club.
