Arsenal will only let Alexis Sanchez leave for Manchester City if they can bring in Julian Draxler from Paris Saint-Germain.

The news from talkSPORT claims that Manchester City are preparing a £70m bid, but Arsenal will only let the Chilean go if Draxler can be brought in. The article also claims that the Gunners have enquired about Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez as possible transfers in.

Arsenal did enquire about Lemar, months ago and have given up on the deal. So this part is hardly new information and there seems to be very little reason for Arsenal to enquire again.

Riyad Mahrez interest has also been ruled out by David Ornstein, who claims that wherever the Algerian is going, it isn’t to Arsenal. So again, an enquiry for the Leicester player seems unnecessary.

So talkSPORT haven’t lent the Draxler information a great deal of credibility here. However, with Neymar having already joined the club from the capital and Mbappé reportedly on the way as well, Draxler would be forgiven for worrying about his place in the team.

Arsenal could look to take advantage of this, especially if City do come in with a very high bid. We should know more as the day progresses.
